DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. DELHI: It is a city that has been an idyllic symbol of the magnificent past and thriving present of India. It has never failed to amaze its visitors with its beautiful blend of various nationalities, diverse cultures & traditions, heritage of the bygone eras and its modern lifestyle – all rolled into one. Day free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
DAY 02: DELHI SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, proceed with Delhi sightseeing tour. Visit Jama Masjid - the largest Mosque in India. Visit Chandni Chowk oldest, biggest bazaar of Old Delhi. Today at Chandni Chowk, explore the narrow alleys & colorful markets & local shoppers. Also get the opportunity to taste the local food in Delhi. On this tour, you will have the most amazing experience and learn about the city’s history through food. Paranthas: Head to the food-stall-lined lane off Chandni Chowk for delectable parathas (traditional flat bread) fresh off the tawa (hotplate). Choose from a spectacular array of stuffing. Natraj Dahi Bhalla - This place offers popular street-food dishes of India. It is famously known as being one of the best Chaat (street food) houses in town & serves, undoubtedly, the best Dahi Bhalle in Delhi! Kulfi Faluda: Kulfi is one of the most popular traditional desserts in India. It is made from thickened milk flavored with essence and fruits. Kulfi is said to have originated in Indian subcontinent during the Mughal Empire.Later, walk up to Fatehpuri Masjid and enjoy a rickshaw ride till Red Fort. Also, visit Red Fort (a 17th century historical fort in Delhi) and Archaeological Museum of Red Fort which displays various paintings, artefacts, statues, and murals that date back to the medieval era. Later reach Rajghat, a memorial where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. An eternal flame burns on one side of this memorial. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb - first garden-style tomb of India. The main highlight of this tomb, inspired by Persian architecture, is the four garden squares with water passage channels surrounding the tomb. Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan - residence of the President of India and India Gate - an archway built in honor of the soldiers who died in World War I. Visit Qutub Minar built by Qutab-ud-din Aibak in 1193 to mark the beginning of Muslim rule in India. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
DAY 03: DELHI - JAIPUR [260 KMS/ APPROX 5 - 6 HRS]
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, check-out from the hotel and drive to Jaipur. Jaipur is a city known as the Pink City of India due to extensive use of pink sandstone in various buildings of the city. Its monuments showcase a myriad of architectural styles and its vibrant bazaars are famous for traditional handicrafts and jewellery. The ambiance of this city speaks volumes of the rich lifestyle of the Rajput Kings. Upon arrival at Jaipur, you will check-in at the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. DAY 04: JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast head for Jaipur sightseeing. Visit the Amer Fort dating back to 16th century that displays private halls, pavilions, former private chambers of the King and royal Rajput women. The reflection of this fort falling on the Maota Lake is truly captivating. Enjoy an Elephant ride here. Explore the City Palace consisting of former private and public chambers, silver vessels, courtyards, gateways, private chambers of the King and lot more. Later in the day, enjoy Lunch at a very fine restaurant in Jaipur. Also visit Turban Museum, one of the premier tourist attractions in the city. The Jaipur Turban Museum houses the largest collection of turbans in the world. Also, get the opportunity to learn how to tie a Rajasthani style Turban. Later, head to Jantar Mantar. It is an astronomical observatory that features the world’s largest Sundial - Samrat Yantra. Visit the Hawa Mahal - a five-storey palace built in 1799 during Rajput rule. It is popularly known for its intricately-designed 953 windows adorned with spectacular latticework. Later, afternoon is kept free to visit the famous Markets of Textiles, Gems, Carpets, and handicrafts. Jaipur is an ideal place for buying souvenirs. Overnight stay at hotel in Jaipur.
DAY 5: JAIPUR-RANTHAMBORE
After breakfast, you will drive to Ranthambore. On reaching, check-in at the hotel. Ranthambore also called the “Abode of Tigers” is renowned as one the few places that offer highest number of Bengal Tiger sightings. Located in Sawai Madhopur, it also offers deep insights into the traditional village life of Rajasthan. Day free at leisure or you can also visit the Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum of Natural History or walk-through the small villages of Rajasthan to see its traditional culture and traditions. Overnight stay at hotel in Ranthambore.
DAY 6: RANTHAMBORE WILDLIFE SAFARI
The Ranthambore National Park is a wide expanse of wilderness. It is a favored spot for avid travelers and photography enthusiasts. It is renowned as one of topmost places in India with the highest number of Bengal tiger spotting. It also comprises of years-old Ranthambore Fort, overlooking the entire sanctuary, built in 944 AD. Early morning Ranthambore Wildlife safari where you will soak in the natural beauty and rich wildlife including Leopards, Jackals, Gazelle, Boars etc. - especially Tigers. As per 2014 census, there are about 62 tigers present here. Also, watch animals moving around freely around the lake in this national park. After a thrilling safari ride, return to the hotel. Settle in for breakfast. Day free at leisure. Later in afternoon, proceed for evening safari to Ranthambore National Park and continue exploring this natural habitat of various wild animals.Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Ranthambore.
DAY 07: RANTHAMBORE - AGRA - ENROUTE FATEHPUR SIKRI [300 KM/APPROX. 6 HRS]
Drive to Agra. En-route, visit Fatehpur Sikri - a 16th century town established by Mughal Emperor, Akbar. It comprises of various attractions that depict the grandeur of Mughal architecture and the rich lifestyle of Mughal Kings of women. Though it was a short-lived capital of the Mughals, this town offers glimpses of stunning monuments built during the reign of Mughals in India. The gateway to this city - the Buland Darwaza - is one of the major attractions here as it is the largest gateway in the world. Continue drive to Agra. Agra is a chaotic city that boasts the Taj Mahal - 7th Wonder of the World. The inspiring tales and history of the Agra city attracts huge number of tourists every year.On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Day free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Agra.
DAY 08: AGRA SIGHTSEEING - DELHI [205 KM/APPROX. 4-5 HRS] DELHI
After breakfast, visit the Agra Fort known as the Red Fort of Agra. This fort is like a walled city comprising of various mosques, a Palace of Mirrors, private halls, public halls, private chambers and lush gardens. It was one of the royal residences of Emperor Akbar during his rule in India. Later, enjoy a Tonga ride like a King through the streets of Agra to Taj Mahal. On reaching Taj Mahal, spend clicking photographs at this beautiful white marble edifice. Taj Mahal stands in stark contrast with the bustling aura of the city. Located on the banks of River Yamuna, it is the most spectacular monument built as a symbol of love.Proceed with drive to Delhi. On reaching Delhi, board overnight train to Haridwar.
DAY 09: HARIDWAR SIGHTSEEING
Haridwar means “Hari” - God and “Dwar” meaning Gate, Hence, means the gateway to God. It is one of the religious cities of India wherein tourists come any time of the year for a holy bath in the river Ganga to wash away all the sins. Also, the evening Ganga Aarti is what every tourist really enjoys in Haridwar. Without this, a trip to Haridwar is always incomplete. After breakfast, morning at leisure. Later in afternoon, visit the Chandi Devi Temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi (said to be the combined form of Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Durga). Its origin is believed to be in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya (a Hindu priest). It is one of the 5 Shaktipeeths (a place blessed with sacred powers) of Haridwar. Head to the Mansa Devi Temple located at a hilltop. It is dedicated to Goddess Mansa (the snake goddess). The word Mansa means “wish” and hence, devotees tie threads to the branches of the tree, within the temple, to get their wish fulfilled. Next, visit the Chandi Devi Temple. Visit the Maya Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Maya Devi (a form of Shakti). It is an 11th century temple formed when the naval and heart of Sati fell here, as per Hindu mythology. In evening, witness the Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri located on the banks of River Ganga. Watch the unconditional faith of the devotees floating diyas in the river Ganga to seek the blessings of Goddess Ganga. Surround yourself in the magical ambiance of the Aarti with the captivating sounds of ringing temple bells, chanting of holy prayers in the backdrop.
DAY 10: HARIDWAR-RISHIKESH
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is a city surrounded by jungle-clad Shivalik hill ranges. The main highlight is the Ganga River flowing across the city. Tourists visit here for relaxation, peace, yoga, adventure activities (Bungee Jumping, Camping, and Trekking) and holy bath in River Ganga. Day free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Rishikesh.
DAY 11: RISHIKESH SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, visit the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple dedicated to Neelkanth (a form of Lord Shiva). Inside the temple’s complex is a natural spring where devotees go for ablution before entering the main temple. As per Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva consumed poison for an ocean and kept in his throat. This is how, he got the name Neelkanth wherein “Neel” means blue and “Kanth” means throat. Visit the Parmarth Niketan - an Ashram where pilgrims and tourists visit to achieve upliftment for your body, mind and spirit and to strengthen their bond with the Supreme God. Later, proceed to Swargashram - a spiritual abode dedicated to Swami Vishudhanand. You can take a Yoga session here (own expense). Move ahead to Ram Jhula – an iron-made bridge located across the River Ganga at a height of 70ft. This bridge is a must-visit in Rishikesh. Drive back to hotel in Haridwar. Overnight stay at hotel in Haridwar.
DAY 12: HARIDWAR-DELHI
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel. Drive to Haridwar railway junction to board flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
DAY 13: DELHI DEPARTURE
After breakfast, transfer to Delhi International Airport to board flight back home.
