Itinerary

Meet in Kathmandu and drive to Chitwan

This morning we depart Kathmandu for the drive to Chitwan. We generally arrive in time for lunch and partake in an afternoon activity such as a guided walk or a visit to the observation tower.

Game viewing & activities

Early this morning, we travel out to see the one-horned rhino. We return by 8:00 am for breakfast. Mid morning, we take a ride in dug-out canoes on the river, a good site for birdwatching or viewing crocodiles in the warmer months. We return for lunch and may take a wildlife walk during mid-afternoon. This evening's entertainment will be a stick dance performed by the local ethnic tribe of the Terai, the Tharu people.

Return to Kathmandu, trip concludes

We complete our last activity, and after breakfast transfer by road to Kathmandu. Trip concludes on arrival in Kathmandu.

Additional Information

A visit to Chitwan National Park reveals an unexpected side to Nepal and an attractive proposition for nature lovers. Located on the terai at the fringe of the Indian plains, the national park boasts diverse forest and grasslands. Days are spent venturing into the wilderness areas on foot or dug-out canoe to view One-horned Black Rhinoceros and Bengal Tigers, Sloth Bear, leopard, jungle cats, wild boar, otter, Langur, Rhesus and the Macaque Monkey. Our jeep safaris take place inside the National Park boundaries.
