This adventure is perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike!During this adventure you will journey through the dynamic landscape of the San Juans on sea kayak. You'll learn the fundamentals of kayaking, navigation, and camping, and you'll also gain confidence, self-worth, and long lasting friendships with like-minded people! This experience will be a catalyst for personal change and will serve you for years to come!While no previous kayaking experience is required, those that will benefit most will arrive with a willingness to learn, enthusiasm for adventure, and love of new experiences. Every day will have you breaking camp in the mornings and carrying everything you need in your kayaks. You'll paddle in the sound to each destination and camp alongside the water's edge. Explore the coves, landscape and look into the horizon.This adventure is an epic opportunity to head back home feeling accomplished and ready to take on the world! The DestinationNestled between the three great cities of Seattle, Vancouver, and Victoria, British Columbia, are the San Juan Islands. Encompassed by the waterways of Puget Sound, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Rasario Strait, these islands are often referred to as the “Rain Shadow” of the Olympic Mountains, offering an average of 247 days of sunshine annually. With over 200 rocky, forested islands to explore, the area has become a world-renowned kayaking destination. These pristine waters are host to over 85 resident orca whales. Other treasured wildlife sightings may include minke whales, harbor and dall’s porpoises, seals, river otters, and a variety of birds including auklets and herons. The region also boasts the second-largest bald eagle breeding population in the continental United States. The temperate climate, marine wildlife, and dynamic shoreline make the San Juans a paddler’s dream.

The Itinerary

Day 1

Depart from Seattle

• Meet and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and introduction to the group and your adventure.

Day 2

Anacortes to Lopez Island

  • Take an afternoon Ferry from Anacortes to Lopez Island.
  • Arrive at our put in and begin our kayak lessons.
  • Set out to our first camp.

Days 3-5

Sea Kayaking Expedition around the San Juan Islands!

  • Itinerary will be dependent on weather and tides.
  • We will move camp each day.
  • Day hikes, campfires, laughter, wildlife and more.

Day 6

San Juan Islands to Seattle

• Departure back on the ferry returning to Anacortes.• Travel to your hotel. • Clean up and enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 7

Head home or extend your stay and enjoy the city.
