Located in the heart of Cherokee National Forest and less than an hour drive from Chattanooga, Brush Creek Trail chases the Ocoee River on flat, flowing trail that is ideal for racking up fun and easy mileage.

Brush Creek Trail belongs to the popular Tanasi Trail System in Ocoee, Tennessee. The Brush Creek Trail Trailhead is found at Boyd's Gap Overlook off US Highway 64 two miles South from the Ocoee Whitewater Center. From the parking circle, locate a gate towards the left side of the overlook. There is a sign that reads "Brush Creek Trail No. 341" behind that gate designating the start of the mountain biking trail.

The trail is 14 miles out-and-back, but intersects a pull-off from US Highway 64 halfway through the mountain biking trail. The pull-off is .5 mile South from Boyd's Gap Overlook via highway (for if you bring a second vehicle or have someone to pick you up). The trail begins with a prolonged descent that drops you off at the Ocoee River Basin. The trail then flows through trees along the river bank, across bridges, and around berms until you meet the turn-around location or turn off the trail to intersect the highway. You will encounter multiple forks along the trail that are accompanied by signage. Always follow the course of "Brush Creek Trail" as directed by the signs.

This trail is not designed for your first mountain bike experience, but it is perfect for your second or third. The trail features a decent amount of rocks and roots over some tight lines that will require you to have minimal experience in order to maneuver across, but the trail is extremely fast, flat, and fun for those not seeking to bike straight up a mountain. Brush Creek Trail is terrific for racking up easy mileage in some beautiful forest scenery.
