Redwood City, California

Description

Added by Virginia Mae Rollison

Great trails for hiking or bikingAwesome spot for sunset-watchingSpectacular views of the Bay Area

The Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve is great for beginning hikers who want epic views with minimal effort. The car-park is at the top of Skyline Blvd, and from there you can easily access stunning vistas of the mountains to the east and Silicon Valley spread out to the west. Follow any of the trails for a leisurely hike along the ridge. The trails are in great condition and are often frequented by mountain bikers, runners and hikers. There is limited tree-cover on top of the ridge and can get very hot in the summer, so make sure to bring sunscreen and water.
