Asilomar is a quintessential beach near downtown Monterey, California. The Asilomar State Beach and Coastal Trail is a 2.7 mile out and back hike that is perfect for hikers, trail runners, and dog walkers.
Activities off the trail include sea kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. The ocean is cold - so a wetsuit is recommended. This trail is also great for nature sightings: tide pools, kelp beds, sea lions, and the occasional otter! The trail is open year round and is great for all skill levels.
