Great experience for such a short hike among sandstone walls. You can find a lot more information about it online.

There are multiple names for this location - Mushroom caves, San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, Annie's Canyon Trail. There are two different routes that lead you to the caves, one is around 2 miles and the other is about 0.5 miles to reach to beginning of the hike into the rocks. There will be a sign pointing both ways, one that says moderate and strenuous. You will end up at the same spot at the top, but if you go the strenuous route, you will be able to climb among the caves!
