Amazing sunset views over the Pacific. Great spot to watch the surf. Accessible parking. Close proximity to town.

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park area is a 68-acre park on the western edge of Point Loma. The cliffs overlook the Pacific, creating a great spot to take in the sunset. If you head to the parking lot off of Sunset Cliffs, you can get a great view from Pappy's Point. Try to get there a bit before the sunset if you want to snag a spot in the parking lot. There is also additional parking further south in the Natural Park if this lot is overcrowded.

If you're taking a special someone there for the sunset, head to the The Joint before or after to grab a bite and a drink or two.

Catch a Sunset at Sunset Cliffs Reviews

I did not visit sunset cliffs at the best time of year, but it was a really neat spot! Great spot for photos and fun for family's if you scramble down closer to the water, you can find crabs, urchins, and small fish in the tide pools. I'm hoping to visit again in September.

I love how accessible this place is. I would love to come back and lay a blanket, have a picnic, and just enjoy the sunset.

Great spot for shooting portraits, engagements, or to just wander along the cliffs at sunset. If you start at the north end, it makes for a great run out to Point Loma as well.

There are plenty of places to park and enjoy the sunset. Just bring your camera, some snacks and find a little place all to yourself. The farther in you go (towards the campus) the more secluded it will be...hopefully

I totally recommend this adventure

The beach is way more dramatic at high tide! At low tide, you can walk along the rocks and giant piles of kelp, looking for shells. It's one of the better places in SoCal for a sunset!
