7 Photos from The Best View in Malibu

Hands down the most incredible view in malibu.

By: Sabastian Lundgren + Save to a List

If I'm being honest with you, Malibu has got to be one of the most spectacular and awe inspiring places I'm lucky enough to call home.

You see I grew up here, this is my home. Now, with that comes this massive and largely unexplored expanse of the California coastal mountain range. From the youngest age I can remember I looked out at these mountains with wide eyes and a large sense of duty to do everything in my power to leave no mountain unconquered. Throughout many years of explorations, adventures, treacherous cliffs, trail blazing, and wandering around these majestic mountains I stumbled upon what i can confidently say is the most incredible view in all the land.

The best part about this amazing little gem of a hike is that no matter the conditions or the time of year this place always puts on a show at sunset. I swear its as if these mountains can tell they have a visitor and boy do they treat you to a show so surreal at times you wouldn't believe you were on this planet.

As a general rule of thumb with places such as this the longer you stay the better they get. Suddenly magical little bursts of light will start to peak through the fog revealing a glow that will do nothing short of blow your mind.

If you are lucky, on a foggy day, as the sun goes down it will slowly reveal the island of Anacapa. Generally blanketed in a dense and menacing fog.

Looking left from the beautiful sunset and the sandstone mountain area you will start to notice little tiny mountain peaks poking out through the ocean of clouds. these mountains slowly start to look like their own little private islands set deep in that sea of fog.

Now of course, almost needless to say, the best part about this place is sharing it with close friends as well as other adventure seekers out there. Theres just something touching about watching that uncontrollable smile and warm sense of happiness come over someone when they see this for their first time.

If you'd like to come see this incredible place for yourself you're in luck! I will be writing a whole adventure article right here on The Outbound! Happy adventuring everyone!
