September. The sky was heavily clouded. Shortly after our first steps, small droplets of rain began to fall from heaven. They were a blessing! The temperature was close to 30 degrees. The amount of humidity in the air and the short shower we just experienced justified the reason why an amazing and immersive green was filling our view no matter where we looked.
Shortly after the first drops of rain touched the ground, a diverse and intense combination of fragrances made us forget the heavy and sometimes unbreathable atmosphere of modern cities.
As if awakened by this powerful scents, a pair of Northern Goshawks rose to the skies and started claiming the island for themselves.
What a feast for the senses! And what a nice way to start a hike through an island that was just starting to show its charms to a perplexed and excited couple of explorers.
