Laguna Wilcacocha (3725m) is a short acclimatization hike to prep for treks around Huaraz. This hike provides a great view of the entire Corderilla Blanca range.
To get to trailhead take a colectivo from Huarez (about 1 sol) to Chiwipampa "al cruce de Santa Cruz" then walk up the path near the building painted green (pictured). Locals can point out the trail if you get confused along the way.
Depending on your acclimization, the hike up 1-3 hours and about 1 hour back down.
To get back to Huaraz a colectivo can be flagged down at the trailhead.
