Pack some water and bring your camera because this day hike will leave you exhausted and in awe at the beauty that Central Oregon has to offer.

This Misery Ridge and Summit

Parking: There is plenty of parking to enter the park $5 all-day fee. Parking is a .5 miles downhill hike from the trail head.

From the Smith Rock Trailhead, take the main trail down to the Crooked River Bridge.

This intense 5.8 mile hike will lead you up to the summit of Smith Rock State park. The first half is a steep uphill hike so bring some water because you will definitely break a sweat. The view at the top will is a stunning view of Central Oregon and the entirety of Smith Rock State Park.After the summit you'll begin to go downhill where you will pass Misery Ridge. More likely than not you'll see expert climbers on a high beautiful red wall of intense heights.The end of the hike is very flat and you'll be walking by a beautiful river. Watch of for rattlesnacks here in the summer time!
