beautiful 360 degree viewsfire pits on topcan stay the night for an amazing sunset/sunriseeasily accesible trailheadcan bring your dogThis hike is perfect for all seasons if gear is acquirable to manage snow, although it is recommended that it is done in late spring to summer to avoid adverse weather and conditions. It is challenging but rewarding with its full array of 360 degree views. It doesn't take too long to hike so it makes for a perfect morning or afternoon.
Henline Mountain trailhead is just a quick drive past Henline Falls trailhead along the road to Opal Creek within the Opal Creek wilderness area.
This hike offers scenic viewpoints throughout that offer great locations for breathers as it is quite steep through the first 2.8 miles. Within that distance one will climb 2,200 feet taking them to the first view point that was once the location of a lookout tower. From here one can view Mt. Jefferson and Battle Ax.
If one wishes to continue on, another 1.1 miles takes them to the actual summit of Mt. Henline which peaks at 4,650 feet. It is rumored that there is a box containing a journal to sign and leave remarks of the hike in so be sure to check it out!
