Description

There are so many trails at Smith Rock that your pup will love, for all skill levels. From walking next to the river, along the canyon wall and realizing how small we really are, to climbing high peaks and feeling on top of the world. Whatever you do, don't do it alone; bring your companion with you.

Of the many options, Misery Ridge is one that will surely give you and your fur baby a workout with a rewarding view. The entire trail is a gem, really. It's 1.8 miles up and starts after you cross the bridge over the river, following the sign. Most of the way is a climb full of switchbacks that puts you at an elevation of around 2,800 ft. with an astonishing view. The sweeping views of the river and Smith Rock State Park make you understand what wonder Native Americans must have felt when stumbling upon this wilderness. Remember to leave no trace and don't forget to stop along the way to offer your pup water, it sure can get hot up there.
