The Flat Rock View via Nuwati and Cragway Trail in Banner Elk, North Carolina is a moderately challenging hiking trail. Spanning approximately 3.5 miles, the trail offers a variety of terrain, including rocky paths and steep inclines. The trail is well-marked and suitable for hikers of intermediate skill level. The trail's main attraction is the Flat Rock View, a large, flat rock formation that provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, hikers will also pass by the Nuwati River, a small, clear stream that runs alongside the trail. The trail also features a series of small waterfalls and a variety of local flora and fauna. Hikers should wear sturdy footwear due to the rocky terrain and bring plenty of water, especially during the warmer months. The trail is open year-round, but the best time to visit is in the fall when the leaves change color. Parking is available at the trailhead.
