Sunset and fullmoon at El Capitan State Beach

By: Kenny Nguyễn + Save to a List

Camping at El Capitan State Beach, SB, CA.

Arrived on a Friday afternoon the first weekend of March, 2017. Got multiple campsites open and it was a walk-in. The views are spectacular! Ocean breeze, wave clashing onto the rocks, cliffs overlooking the 101, the coast and islands. The reason for this trip was just to get away from LA for couple days, other reason included testing a new camera I had purchased. Images taken below is with Sony A7 mk i, w/ Rokinon 14mm f/2.8, minolta 58mm f/1.4, minolta 135mm f/1.8, Sony FE 50mm f/1.8.

In frame above is part of our campsite, space is fairly large with a fire pit and a table. Taken under full moon 14mm f/2.8. The moon lit up the night as you can freely roam around without a flashlight.

High tide during the entire time we were there. Relaxing sound of waves clashing with the rocks while sleeping at night is amazing. Taken during the afternoon looking north.

Macro shot, one of many flowers that bloom during our stay there, these particular flowers bloom closer towards the water.

There are multiple trails and loops, we just did a quick loop to catch the sunset and grab a few pictures. Pretty amazing sunset!
