Ever wanted to feel immersed in Lord Of The Rings type scenery? If so, this hike is for YOU!

The carpark is right on the bend to your right and there is one "long drop" style toilet before you depart. From here on out, you'll be using the facili"trees" when nature calls.

Start your way by walking up the double track. Keep left and keep ascending once you approach Diamond Lake. When the trail forks again you'll enjoy a bounty of stairs that lead to a beautiful lookout over the lake. Then keep going up.

When you get to the fork in the road, take either the eastern or western track to the top. I prefer the eastern, to the western option.

No matter what you do, the views are sure to be mind blowing! The summit sits at 2500 feet above sea level and looks over Lake Wanaka and over toward Aspiring National Park.

Come down the same way, or take the other way down. It's difficult to get lost on this hike.
