Mt. Beacon hike is a fun activity for a group large or small. The trail is well-maintained and the views will keep you coming back!
Parking was free, plenty of spaces even on a beautiful Saturday. Hit the trail with a backpack full of water and light snacks. (Don't forget your camera!) After a few daunting flights of stairs, the trail becomes an adventure complete with rocks and branches to dodge. The incline is steady, some sections are quite steep. Don't let it scare you though, the views from the top are stunning! Various lookouts provide plenty of photo opportunities. The walk down is a breeze, just make sure you have your hiking shoes to avoid slipping! Reward yourself with a visit to downtown Beacon. Our recommendation: $3.00 tacos at Tito Santana Taquiera. Perfect way to end the day.
