Description

Added by Jean-Claude Linossi

This is an easy 2.5 mile hike .You will be hiking mostly on the Sierra Vista trail. You will be able to see a great diversity of desert plants and many cacti in bloom in the spring.

You will be hiking on the sierra Vista trail for about a mile to the base of Pena Blanca. Pena Blanca is in the Organ Mountain Desert Peak National Monument. You can hike around the base of the mountain or climb the slope to the top and enjoy some great views of the surrounding mountains. The climb to the top is about 300 ft. There are also several small caves here. After the summer rains there seems to be an abundance of wildflowers.
