Hike to Huyler's Landing
New Jersey › Palisades Interstate Park
Added by The Outbound Collective
Distance: 5.5 mile loopViews of the Hudson River and New York
From the parking area, follow the Closter Dock Trail (orange blazes) into the woods. The trail starts on a downhill, and ends at the bottom. Turn right onto Shore Trail (white blazes), walking along the water, and passing through the parking lot for the alpine Boat Basin and Kearney House.
Huyler's Landing will be the first of a few viewpoints on this route. Enjoy the views, then take a right onto Huyler's Landing Trail (red blazes), heading uphill. This trail terminates at a T-intersection, where you will turn right onto Long Path Trail (teal blazes). This trail takes you to a number of nice outlooks, including the Alpine Lookout.
Just before the parking area, the trail will take a sharp right and lead you through a tunnel beneath the road. Turn left to reach the parking area.
