Hike one of the most beautiful and quiet spots in New Jersey - you'll forget you're in the suburbs!
Right off 202, there's a parking lot right next to the start of the trail (as well as a bathroom behind the little building!). Be wary, the weekends are flooded with hikers of all ages and sizes so you may expect to wait a few minutes to find a parking spot.
As soon as you start walking from the parking lot, there's a long, wide dirt trail to start. There are a few small ponds that people are often fishing in and then the uphill ascend begins. Challenging enough for intermediate hikers, but not too hard for beginners! At the middle of the ascent (or the peak for most hikers) there is the beautiful reservoir. If you're advanced enough, there are hidden waterfalls and streams that are a blast to trek down!
Also, there are picnic tables by the ponds as well as access to fishing. Plus! Bring your dog - there are usually a bunch of them swimming and splashing by the shore of the reservoir.
