This is a seldom visited, serene lake in Glacier National Park, yet not too far off. It is pack horse friendly, and to add a little spice to it, it includes fording the Middle Fork of the Flathead River in order to find the trail head.
This hike starts right on the edge of Glacier Park, and starts by preceding across the boundary line, which is the Middle Fork. Begin by parking at Moccasin creek River Access Boat Launch, which is in between West Glacier, MT, and Nyack, MT. Start at deerlick creek, and
