Hiking in the Parkville Nature Sanctuary

Parkville, Missouri

Description

Added by Stacey Smith

Close to the cityWell maintainedAbundant wildlifeEasy nature walk (great for families with small children)

This little gem is the perfect escape for Kansas City outdoor enthusiasts. It has the feel of a deep woods experience, but is just minutes from the city. It travels a hillside along a forested ravine and loops back under a beautiful tree canopy.

Wildlife is abundant. There are deer, turkeys, butterflies galore, and a wide variety of birds. The scenery is beautiful and quite unexpected so close to the city. And the waterfall is definitely the cherry on top!

A trail map is available here.

The park is also close to the adorable little town of Parkville - don't miss stopping by Parkville Coffee for an amazing cup-o-joe and quiche... yum!
