Rasmussen Woods, located in Mankato, Minnesota, offers a 3.42-mile trail loop that is accessible year-round. The trail is rated as moderate, with a few steep inclines and uneven terrain that may challenge some hikers. The trail winds through a mixed forest of oak, maple, and pine trees, providing ample shade during the summer months. One of the key features of this trail is the small, clear stream that it crosses multiple times. There are several wooden bridges along the path, adding a unique element to the hike. The trail also offers views of a small pond, home to a variety of waterfowl. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes due to the rocky and sometimes muddy conditions. The trail is well-marked, but carrying a map is recommended as there are several intersecting paths. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on leash. The trail is open from dawn to dusk, and there is ample parking available at the trailhead.
