This adventure is a great opportunity for beginner hikers to get outside and truly enjoy nature.

Follow the trail named River Falls. It is about a 4 mile hike from the lower falls to the upper falls. Although some say the trail is rigorous, it isn't too bad, considering we were beginners. The trail has some hills, stairs, small bridges, and slight ruggedness.

As you follow the trail, Tahquamenon River flows right alongside, providing great scenery. There are also some benches where you can sit and enjoy the view.

Once you've arrived at the upper falls, there are stairs that allow you to view the massive waterfall from afar. Or, follow the paved trail to view the falls right up close.

This was a fun visit while at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There was a volunteer couple running the lighthouse portion and they were friendly, kind, and well informed.
