The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail stretches approximately 20 miles from Lowell to Sudbury, Massachusetts, passing through Chelmsford, Acton, and Concord along the way. With numerous trailheads and access points, it's easy to hop on for a short stroll or ride, or tackle the entire route.

The fully paved trail is well maintained and features benches, bike repair stations, and other amenities throughout. Open to non-motorized recreation, the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail is popular for cycling, walking, jogging, rollerblading, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are also permitted.

While some sections are busier than others, the trail offers a scenic and convenient way to explore several Massachusetts communities while enjoying fresh air and fitting outdoor recreation into your day.
