You will find beautiful views as you climb your 5 miles to the top. The trail begins weaving through lightly forested areas until you reach switchbacks and dry dusty trails. At 1900 ft elevation gain its a bit of a push but worth it. Plenty of spots to pull off and grab a drink. Dog-friendly trail! Stellar view of the Gallatin valley throughout the hike and a beautiful panoramic view once you summit.

Potosi Hotsprings is a well known area, expect the campgrounds to be active and to share the spot with others. We got lucky both times we went and only shared the springs for a brief time as we got in and they got out. It's an easy 1 mile hike to the springs. Please, please do not bring glass to the site and pack out everything you pack in! The campground is well kept and cozy. I reccomend you opt for the further sites, you'll find yourself away from others and sleeping close to a small stream. The road to the springs is full of potholes, tight corners, and large rocks. Take is slow and maybe leave the Prius at home for this one :)
