This short, dog-friendly hike leads to the second tallest waterfall in Maryland. Once you get there, relax, enjoy, and weather permitting, cool off with a swim.

This 1.2 mile roundtrip hike leads to the second tallest waterfall in the state of Maryland. It is a short hike that's great for families and bringing the dog. In the warmer months, you can swim in the pool at the base of the waterfall. People have cliff jumped here, but exercise caution and do so at your own risk.

Getting Here: From Pylesville, head west on Pylesville Road for approximately 3 miles and you will enter the parking area at the park. The trailhead will be on the west side of the lot.

Hike to Kilgore Falls Reviews

Nice but extremely crowded. Parking is difficult. Trail is very short.

This is a nice hike for those who just want to get outside and see a pretty waterfall. Not much of a challenge for incline or distance. I would recommend for families with dogs and children.

This area gets very crowded in warmer months. Really nice to hike it and take pictures in the winter or early spring or late fall.
