Challenging hike with a great overlook to reward.
The Beehive trail is one of the busiest hikes in the park. The parking lot is usually rather full and is equipped with bathrooms and water filling stations so take advantage of these features. When ready to start the trail just head back up the road you came until you reach the trail head about 100 feet. You will have to climb some steps that lead through unto a flatter rock bed area that is along the base of the main peak. The climb will then begin along a series of iron rungs making the hike a very unique and thrilling one. Some features of this trail are the vertical ladder-like climbs as well as the narrow ledges that look like miniature replicas of the "Thank God Ledge" of Half Dome. The peak on a nice sunny day shows an amazing view of the tree line meeting the beach and others enjoying the outdoors. Don't forget to stop and look out over the scenery every once in a while since this is a rather quick but strenuous hike
