Offroading with your AWD

Some things are not meant to go there

By: M Ev + Save to a List

So i was assured that my beautiful AWD Subie would make it along this offroad section of trail leading to 2 campsites and trailhead. My WRX, myself and friend set off on our adventure with 1.5 hours of sunlight left. We turned off at the right road and started the climb into the mountains. We bottomed out once, slowly, and hit the bumper once, slowly. We were getting pretty pumped and positive when we finally approached a hill so rutted that i knew 10000% my car would be ripped to pieces if i attempted.

We backed down, regrouped without 4G!, and headed back towards town where we knew there are alternate trailheads and campsites. The campsite shuffle started and i finally got us into a spot. We threw down our gear, ate our 2 hour old dinners and plotted the next day hike. It was supposed to be harder than our originally planned hike.

Night ensued and we woke at 730 am to a gorgeous morning and to the start of a gorgeous hike!!!!
