Description

Added by Steven Reed

This is a great place to ride or hike due to the well maintained trail system in this national forest.

The trail system begins at the recreation area of Kisatchie National Forest. There are several trails that allow you to choose various distances to ride or hike.  The most popular biking trail seems to be the 9 mile Kincaid Loop trail. This trail starts and ends in the parking lot of the recreation area. There are other trails that branch off of the Kincaid loop trail such as the Lamotte Creek trail and the Wild Azalea Trail, which is the longest trail in Louisiana at approximately 28 miles. The Kincaid Loop Trail will circle Kincaid Lake and allow for scenic views and varying terrain. The trail is well maintained by the forest service. The trail consist of areas that are smooth and fast as well as areas that are more technical with steep hills covered with roots. Portions of the trail borders a camping area so there are several places you can exit the trail if you need to.
