Book through our partner Tentrr

A campsite with seclusion and privacy close to NYC with numerous activities nearby (kayaking, swimming, bouldering, hiking, biking, etc). We are adding a mandatory extra day between campers so we can thoroughly clean all surfaces before the next group comes in. If you request a booking and don't hear back from me in 2 hours, text me at 937-594-9377 as the Tentrr notification system doesn't always work. We charge extra in the late Fall and Winter as more firewood is used and we supply all the firewood you could need.

Coronavirus info: We are requiring 24 hours between campers so we can thoroughly clean all surfaces. In addition, we will provide two 5 gallon jugs of water so one can be used for handwashing. Liquid soap will also be provided. We won't come out to greet you but may wave from a distance! And you'll have my phone number if anything comes up.

Wooded campsite accessible through sheep pasture, it's about 200 yards from the parking spot to the Tentrr site. Here's whats included:
- All of the standard Tentrr stuff (two queen air mattresses, picnic table, camp stove, camp toilet, etc) including a full 5 gallon cooler of potable water, 5 gallons of water for hand washing, a solar shower, and three tiki torches (but without oil). We also include toilet paper. Plenty of firewood will be provided at the camp site along with fire starting materials (paper, cardboard, lighters, and lighter fluid or starting blocks).

Our site is very close to Southeast Station (Harlem Line). We are right off the Putnam Trailway (which connects to the North and South County Trailways (one could bike all the way here for bike camping from NYC), I-84/I-684, merely an hour or so from the city! Lots to do nearby including:
- Ice Pond Preserve Hiking and Bouldering (great bouldering location!)
- Kayaking in the Great Swamp of Patterson NY
- Hiking in numerous nearby parks like Fahnestock, Michael Ciaola, Ice Pond Conservation Area, etc.
- Fishing and Fly Fishing in several area streams and lakes (NY fishing license required)
- Mountain biking nearby including Ice Pond (only a mile away)
- Road biking around popular trailways (Putnam and North County Trailway) and nearby roads (once the new Maybrook trail opens, it will only be two miles from the site and one could bike in from Albany and other points north)
- Swimming in nearby White Pond

As a warning, due to the proximity to Interstate 84, there is some background noise but it is minimal and can’t be heard normally over the wind or a crackling fire!
