Hilltop Meadow
Bloomville, New York
A tent with a view
Located on the top of one of the foothills of the Western Catskills, this beautiful campsite has long valley views at the edge of a clipped meadow. It is surrounded by other meadows and woods that provide peaceful solitude and a pleasant retreat from the din of everyday life. Enjoy mountain breezes, the calls of birds, and glimpses of does with their fawns feeding at the edge of the forest. Swim in a clean and private pond. Hikers can take advantage of logging trails on the property and walks on lightly driven lanes and roads, or they can access the old Delaware and Ulster rail trail which runs from Bloomville to Roxbury and follows the West and East branches of the Delaware River. Kayakers can paddle on the Delaware or the nearby Susquehanna. The campsite is located 10 miles from the village of Stamford, close to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, and eight miles from the hamlet of Bloomville. There are nice local restaurants and is a vibrant local arts scene with many regular musical and dramatic performances.
