Tucked away in the corner of "Wild and Wonderful" Lost River Valley of Mathias WV, enjoy over 40 acres of true "Almost Heaven" secluded land. This backcountry campsite is the very corner of Hardy County, West Virginia. Hike up the mountain and see views all the way into Virginia! Hike or bike the trails throughout the day or gaze at the vivid starry sky by night.

Note: This is a deep wilderness site, we do sometimes have real bears! Stay cozy at night with the cabin extra!

Experienced campers only: you may rent just the land and pitch a tent anywhere but the most level land is near the cabin and spring.

It's just a short drive to the fun Hidden Stables horseback riding in Lost River State Park (call them to verify when they are open). A true horseback experience, this is no pony ride! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g59297-d4191907-Reviews-Hidden_Trails_Stables-Mathias_West_Virginia.html
