COVID Free Fire Watch Meadow
Bovina Center, New York
Your private 50-acre meadow next to the Forever-Wild Plattekill State Forest. On Roundtop Mountain (3'260). 1700 acres around you & our 150 acre farm below. Come swim. Grab a hot shower. Poop in a bucket, Climb the fire towers. Hike our loop road. Send us a message with your email after you book and we will send our manual for the site and directions to camp.
The Catskills are some of the oldest mountains in the world [350 million y/o] and only mountains over 3000' are named (like ours). You could even hike up & find the brass spike placed during the depression when the CCC surveyed all mountains. An amazing location for a campsite. Far removed from the world yet honestly only 15 minutes from civilization. We charge a higher price but we are all inclusive (you can come late the night before for free or stay a night extra (but check the free night you want is available 1st!).Bring food, drinks, some plastic bags & toilet paper & ice and come on up. Wake up to BEAUTY!
Our chunk of Roundtop is this 50-acre meadow with stunning views to the east and west showing sunrise (at some points in the year) and sunset. You will be in complete seclusion, with few made man objects in your view, yet you can be in the destination village of Bovina in 8 minutes or the "metropolis" of Delhi or Margaretville in 20. Our historic 1790's Stagecoach Inn (Farmcreek), a 150-acre former dairy farm (tat once provided milk for the White House - as did many farms in the area) sits just below you in case you need anything (we're very chill hosts usually with city friends on weekends) Plus you're encircled by the 1800-acre Plattekill State Forest. Our farm sits in the Thompson Hollow Valley and an unusual 4-mile loop valley road - a great hike. Marked off from the camp site.
Enjoy the Stunning multiple mountain views in this generously supplied glamping site, as rustic or comfortable as you wish. Also, please let us know what type of car you will be driving!
