Explore the World (From Home) with Google Map Treks

This website from Google lets you explore some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

This morning I got out of bed, made my (large) pot of coffee and sat down at my computer. Then, I climbed the Nose on El Capitan with Lynn Hill, followed by a bucket-list re-affirming trip to Mont Blanc. Not bad for 9am.

TheGoogle Maps Treks site lets you explore a range of impressive spots around the world with street view. Places range from the Amazon Basin, to Petra, Jordan and the Galapagos. It's a hit-list of "places I'd rather be right now". It might not be as good as actually traveling, but hey, I'll take what I can get right now.

Here are a few of the spots you can check out, or see them all here.

We want to acknowledge and thank the past, present, and future generations of all Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples whose ancestral lands we travel, explore, and play on. Always practice Leave No Trace ethics on your adventures and follow local regulations. Please explore responsibly!
