Explore the Beautiful Fall Foliage along the City Creek Trails

Get lost discovering all of the bridges and fall foliage in the City Creek Trails

By: Josh Packer + Save to a List

Fall is a favorite time of year for many adventurers because of the changing and abundant colors. One of the best places in southeast Idaho to view fall foliage is hidden in the mountains of Pocatello. I've lived in southeast Idaho most of my life, but I had never been here until this year.

The fall foliage along the City Creek Trails appears to be an oasis upon the barren mountains of Pocatello. There are countless trails to take your family on for short hikes or bike rides to explore all the changing colors and falling leaves. I hiked from the Upper City Creek Trail down to the Lower City Creek Trail, which will lead you along many of the beautiful bridges to photograph, which are identified by numbers. This numbering system makes it easy to find when using the trail guide below:

There are many spots to park and explore. Make sure to download the City Creek Trails map to navigate to the various bridges in the area.

The leaves are falling quickly, so get over there as soon as possible before you miss out on this amazing time of year!
