Tanania Safari

8 Nights 10 Days, 5 National Parks, 2 Countries, Million Animals.

By: Javi Lorbada + Save to a List

Great you landed here! However, this is the second part of the Safari, I think it would be nicer if you start from "Part one "

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Second part of our trip started in the Serengeti, it wasn't the best kickoff for Tanzania, we had a full day traveling, in completely dirty and bumpy roads, with some unexpected waiting times in Isebania border, and that really got us very tired. I guess if you do a Safari by road you get this for free, you could also avoid this traveling by flying into one of the multiples airstrips you can find inside the Serengeti.

Finally, we arrive at Serengeti, just before they close one of the gates phew! we made it! And thankfully, the end of the day could not be better, the Serengeti received us with an astonishing Sunset, and 5 lions (4 females and a male) just hunted a Zebra! What an opening!

True fact, our expectations were very high after Maasai Mara, and that made our Serengeti start a bit rough. However with the days, it was again, a remarkable experience, the Serengeti offered us extraordinary Sunrises and Sunsets as well as magnificent Wildlife, plus one of the most spectaculars scenes I've been able to see so far, the Great Migrationnearly two million animals moving together to find fresh grass, on top of that, we saw them crossing the Grumeti River, an impressive moment!

In Serengeti we stayed for 4 full days, enough time to get to see a big part of the National Park, although this park it's huge we could explore Central and Western Serengeti, which allowed us to spot an extensive amount of animals. From all kind of Birds to a big group of Mammals, many Antelopes, and the Great Migration.

BIRDS

ANIMAL KINGDOM

In the Serengeti Animal Kingdom, there are not only birds and Lions, but much more wildlife range, Antelopes, Jackals, Mongoose, Warthogs, Monkeys, Buffalos, Hippos, Hyenas, Leopards and much more!

Luckily we had four animal spotting days!

GREAT MIGRATION

The Great Wildebeest Migration was another important reason to visit the Serengeti and decide for a Safari trip. But let me explain what it is.

Nature’s oldest pilgrimage plays out on the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park and the Masai Mara National Reserve, as over a million wildebeest along with gazelle and zebra stragglers charge towards better grazing areas. This is the stage on which the 'greatest wildlife show on earth' plays out, as it is by far the greatest mass movement of land mammals on the entire globe. (Source: Rhinoafrica)

So now that you know, this is indeed one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, something impossible to explain, but millions of animals walk and run around, and you can just enjoy that peaceful moment.

CHEETAH

The Cheetah is the world fastest land mammal, and in Serengeti, we were incredibly lucky to spot them multiple times.

LION

Lions are the only cats that live in groups, which are called pride. Pride is family units that may include up to three males, a dozen or so females, and their young.

Fortunately, we saw them literally every day, and that is priceless, I will never be tired of spotting Lions, Females, Male or Cubs.

NGORONGORO CRATER

At this point were already flabbergasted, what else could we expect from this shocking trip. Well, we arrive at Ngorongoro.

In all honesty, I could never imagine the diversity that Ngorongoro crater concentrates, it is simply a must go place in Tanzania. Where in a relatively small area you can find an absurd number of different animals.

From Rhino to Flamingos and from Lions to Secretary Birds.

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Our last day of the ten days Safari, we visited Tarangire National Park, to our surprise, there were new animals discovered here, like the Nile Lizard, or some of the most beautiful birds!
