The Italian "WOW Effect"

Castelbianco, Italy

Description

Added by Gianluca Parola

Scary climbing day in the Ligurian rock, all this just a few steps from the sea

11:45 am , I' m at my computer and am finishing my "work" morning.

Cell phone rings, it's Nicola: "Want to come climb this afternoon?"Laughter and my obvious answer... chocolate, water and i am in the car 15 minutes later.

Castelbianco, a small village situated in the Ligurian hinterland, a few miles from Albenga (SV) offers rock enthusiasts numerous walls (only place in Liguria with a climbing rout 9a "Last Man"), to go home unhappy is not easy!

There is fun for everyone :)

1:30 pm, we park the car near the sharp bend to the right before thevillage, the approach phase to the wall chosen tough today about 5minutes.

A wise decision the low temperatures seen in recent days, in the autumn-winter the sun falls early (about 3:30 pm) and from the shadow is very cold, the walls facing south-west remain warmer and sunny.

Arrived !!!

backpacks, harnesses, shoes, referrals and ropes. Nothing is missing,

I am enthusiastic! It is my second time on the rock.

We start warming up with a simpler way to then move on to something more long and tiring.About 30 meters of the wall, if you look up at the sky you remain petrified by the terrifying roof and it will pass on the head. Beautiful!

Soon it is evening, the day went by too quickly.  I fill my backpack with sore feet  and hands dry from magnesite, it's time to go home, as always thinking about when the next adventure will be.Every time is a thrill, spending time outdoors with friends is priceless, whatever both the project.

Thanks to Nico and Briga for the wonderful experience.

I run to buy the material :)
