Cycle in the Wicklow Mountains
Wicklow, Ireland
Description

Great scenery, the climbs are challenging, but rewarding!
Start your cycle in Leixlip, Kildare and make your way down to Tallagh. From there, take the Old Court Lawn. Take a right through Woodstown Village. This will bring you onto the Old Military Road. The climb is very steep with no time to rest. Once you get onto the Old Military Road you take a right, and it's still going up.
Once you come out of the forest and hit the junction with Cruagh Road it gets less steep. It's very tough in the forest, but keep going, because it's well worth the view later on! On top of the mountains it opens up and it can be very windy, but the scenery is stunning.
The second climb is to Upper Lough Bray. This is a really nice climb as you can see the road going up. Once you are on the top, keep going all the way to Sally's Gap, where you have a choice of going right back towards Blessington, straight to Glendalough or left towards Lough Tay and Greystones.
Plenty of opportunities, and great for cyclists who are up for a challenge!
