This journey through the canyons of Oglesby IL is one that will leave you in awe. The sandstone cliffs and the waterfall pools are definitely features you will remember!
The small walk up to starved rock is one that all can enjoy with a paved road and a wooden staircase; it is easily accessible! While the views are great the story behind the area runs deeper! I highly recommend reading the plaques while hiking to immerse yourself into the reality of what happened there and why it's truly a monument! Then you can venture out to all of the lookouts and walk down the side of the Illinois River. The farther back you walk though the greater the experience becomes. The Canyons become less crowded and they appear less touched by tourists! They become more real and secluded with the views getting even better!
