This park will forever change your image of Illinois as being just one big flat expanse of earth. The rock formations, and how they have been formed over millions of years is incredible. Signage all along the trail explains the geology of the area. Amazing!

We walked the quarter mile flagstone path. There were numerous places to leave the trail and climb on the rocks, overlooks and boulders. There are signs to warn of the dangers inherent in leaving the trail, but almost everyone does it to some extent. There is no danger on the trail. If you have small children, you will need to be very mindful of them. If you are an adult, you will need to be very mindful for yourself!
