Summer Time 'to-do' in the Chicago burbs
Harvard, Illinois
Description
Added by Pooja Venkatesh
If you have ever wanted to be around more than 20 hot air balloons at once, this is your chance. See multitudes of hot gassy balloons be released in the air as you soak in the summer sun, enjoying the sweet, simple summers that belong to the Chicago suburbs.
This is different from a typical adventure. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the balloons. This week-long festival in the heart of Harvard, a small town an hour Northwest of Chicago, is the best place for long walks under the sun and cloud watching.
The festival is home to many iced treats and snacks, so it is fun for the whole family. It takes place in a large field, where people play games and take long strolls. During the day, hot air balloons are flying in and out of the field, so feel free to take a ride in one! At night, the balloons are released all together, and it's a beautiful experience to lay under the stars and watch them slowly get further and further away.
