This is an amazing hike 20-25 minutes from the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge. The hike leads to a year round flowing waterfall.
On West Side Road #417, without chains on my 1994 YJ Jeep Wrangler. My partner and I had to walk approximately 2 miles in ankle high snow before arriving at Snow Creek Road #402. When we arrived at the trail head #402, we had to hike down for 1.5 miles, until we got to, two navigation signs that split the trail to the upper and lower parts of the 75 to 125 foot waterfalls. There are boardwalks provided for the harder walks down. It is a beautiful hike, and worth every moment getting to the waterfall. During the cold winters of Northern Idaho, the outer side of the flowing water of the waterfall freezes. Making it an even beautiful sight. It is experienced throughout the year, but not as much explore the waterfall during the winter. From pictures I have from the same adventure during the summer and then during the winter, the landscape changes a lot, but the view is worth the cold hike.
