Waianapanapa State Park
Hāna, Hawaii
Description
Added by Abe Blair
Take in beautiful views of the sunrise in a sheltered cove with access to lava tubes and swimming holes. Best part, crowds are pretty minimal.
Just off the road to Hana before entering the town, Waianapanapa State Park is a great place to stop and explore along the drive. Wainapapa SP offers tent and cabin camping, there is a great black rock beach with access to snorkeling and other beach activities, and lots of short trails for exploration of lava tubes and caves. Some have fresh water swimming holes you can hang out in. Sunrise here is amazing and on high tides there is a cool spouting horn. If you want to get away from the crowds in south Maui this is the spot!
