Snorkeling in Olowalu Reef
Lahaina, Hawaii
Description
Added by Claire Alexander
Snorkeling in the biggest reef in Maui, Hawaii is a 'must-do' if ever visiting Hawaii. Olowalu Reef is home to hundreds of sea turtles, exotic tropical fish, small sharks, whales, and rays. (Sorry for poor camera quality), the corral is home to so many creatures-- but unfortunately this reef is in danger of extinction due to chemical contamination (pesticides) from near by sugar cane plantations streaming into the ocean. This obviously must be reached by boat, deep sea fishing is allowed with a permit. Snorkeling here is the highlight of the any trip!
