Duck huntingHunting from a kayakYou can fish after you huntEasy access

When people think about Tampa Bay, they typically think of fishing. What many people do not know is that Tampa holds all kinds of ducks, and during duck season it's a great place to be. Add in the element of hunting from a kayak and a great adventure is bound to happen.

Like with any body of water, you will need to do some scouting to see what the ducks are doing. Tampa Bay is easier to scout if you fish it during the year so that you will be able to see the activity and location of the ducks.

If you are duck hunting out of a kayak, make sure to get enough blind material to cover your entire kayak. Your basic burlap ground blind from Wal-Mart works perfectly for the Tampa Bay area.

A good place to get started is in the Cockroach Bay area. Lots of ducks can be found in the mangroves. Based on the day and the conditions, you could even paddle around and try to jump shoot a few ducks as well.
