Blue Hen Falls

All in a day's hike.

By: Emma Simone + Save to a List

Many people know of Blue Hen Falls located in the Peninsula of NE Ohio. I am always happy to hike the area! At first you walk down an old paved hill, then come across a bridge that reminds me of Jurassic Park (pictured above). After making a right turn, you come across Blue Hen Falls. It's a fun little waterfall that is easily climbable from above and below. If you want, there is also a portion of the Buckeye Trail located on the left after the right you take upon crossing "Jurassic Bridge". If you want to hike on trail or follow the watered path, you'll come across Buttermilk Falls! It's  worth the hike year round! I always suggest people wear clothes and shoes that they wouldn't mind getting a little muddy. The terrain can get tough at some points if you aren't familiar with the area. I love taking my dog and he loves running around, crossing fallen tree trunks and climbing around as well.

If you are big in to photography, don't forget a tripod to photograph these beautiful water falls!
