Scenic peak view of CT with excellent rock formations
Located in Giuffrida state park is a 688 ft. peak overlooking Connecticut. The trail head is to the right of the Guiffrida State Park parking lot on Westfield Road. Belonging to part of the Meridan Land Trust, this hike is semi strenuous but is great for beginners wanting something a bit more challenging.
As opposed to Hubbard Park, East Rock, and Sleeping Giant (well known state parks in CT) this is a great hike that does not follow a paved or gravel road. It a great hike in the middle of Connecticut that offers a great incline with a nice view and challenging rock formations
This hike does intersect with the Mattabasset blue trail, offers views of crescent lake, and can be extended to hit lamentation mountain for added miles.
