The Yule Pass Trail to Paradise Divide in Carbondale, Colorado is a moderately challenging hike. Spanning approximately 16.05 miles round trip, the trail offers a steady incline with an elevation gain of 4,255 feet. The trailhead begins near the town of Crested Butte and winds through a dense forest of spruce and aspen trees. As hikers ascend, they will encounter a series of switchbacks leading to the Yule Pass. The pass offers panoramic views of the Elk Mountains and the town of Crested Butte. The trail continues to Paradise Divide, a high mountain pass with views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Hikers should be prepared for changing weather conditions and bring appropriate gear. The trail can be snow-covered until late June. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash. The trail is best used from July until September. Remember to pack out what you pack in to preserve the trail's natural beauty.
